Mi abuelo
My grandpa. He was like the my dad I looked up to him. I looked forward to waiting for him to come home from work with a surprise for my sister and I. He was always there when it mattered the most. I loved watching the dodgers play with him or see him play solitaire every day in his same spot.

William
Billy danced back across the rainbow bridge this summer. Under the sparkle and fire of the comet, he surrendered his physical body back to the Mother. Smile and laugh for the joy of having walked beside him. Cry and howl for the loss of the solid forehead to kiss. Rest peaceful knowing he now kisses us all, with every sunbeam and wind gust and rain shower and shooting star. Always all ways grateful to love him and be loved by him. Sweet moon, bathe my cracked heart in your healing light, and tell him I know he is there with you. Grateful, beloved. Xxxooo

My friend Carson Norton took his life December 25, 2021. He was so funny and kind and loving, he had a rough outer shell but if you got to know him, he was one of the sweetest people you would ever meet. He taught me to be more accepting and loving.

Love you, miss you, kiss you
This year, I am honouring my sweet grandmother, mommy-joon, Pari Hedayati-Hakimian. We had a very special weekly ritual which consisted of Saturday morning visits to her apartment. She would often break out into song, snapping her fingers and bouncing her shoulders, performing for us. She would serve up countless cups of hot chaye with sweets, fresh fruits and nuts, as well as each of our favourite foods spread across her tiny little dining table for family lunch. She regularly gave a small allowance to my sister and I, usually between $5-$10, and would look over to my father asking "jaless shodee?" asking if he was jealous of the humble gift. She was one of the few connections to my ancestral culture and she spoke hardly any english after 40 years in Toronto, Canada. Despite her limits with English, she ended every one of our phone calls with "love you, miss you, kiss you". Thinking of you always mommee.

My (adoptive) father, John A. Spitz. We had a difficult relationship and he passed in 2010. He was also smart and silly/playful at times. At one time, he worked hard to provide for us. He authored several books on labor relations that are still in print, which is obviously impressive and inspiring. I would like to honor that and the struggles he faced with mental illness and alcohol addiction that so many others also face.

Ramon Ubaldo Pincay
Ramon Ubaldo Pincay, 84, passed away in his home on Friday July 8th 2022 at 6:15am.
He is survived by his wife Rosita and his children George, Richard and Shirley.
Born in 1938 in Jipijapa, Ecuador at a very young age Ramon began his quest to make a different life for himself. This brought him to travel to Colombia where he lived in several towns and where he made his living working as a tailor. Eventually this brought him and his family to Canada, first living in Ottawa and then to Toronto where he ruled the streets with his magnetic presence, quick humour and speedy stride - everyone loved Raymond.
Ramon had the spark where his customers became his friends. He deeply valued his time at his shop, making people laugh, sharing stories and listening.
At home he was a dedicated and loving husband and father. He worked hard with his family’s best interest always in mind. Ramon made sure things were in order for his family and he brought much laughter and joy.
Raymond’s vibrant fun energy will be missed by all who knew him. His memory will be with us forever. This is Ramon’s first year in this new realm, he is a new ancestor.
